Reviews of the best fish and chips in Ballarat are here
I figure it is a former petrol station, so it has a different vibe to most fish and chip shops. Aside from that, it is old school – no name or ticket number, and pay when your order is cooked. The cooking took 10 minutes.
$8 gets a regular size fish and a few less chips than standard. However it didn’t matter, the meal was plenty big enough for one person.
The fish was as expected and it failed the bend test but only just.
The chips were on the chunky side and a quite few were extra crispy in a good way.
Flavour wise there was something extra going on, which might just mean the oil needed changing but it was tasty.
6/10.
